Glamorous Dipped Hem Dress c/o MeeMee * / Belles Bejewelled Diamond Pendant * / Bracher Emden Classic Tote Bag / Finsk Wedges

Shooting outfit posts on windy days is one of those things I absolutely hate. We always end up taking hundreds of photos, and just hoping that one turned out nicely. Luckily this time we got a really nice shot, but this was the only one & the others were a sorry mixture of squinty eyes, hair in the air & arms everywhere trying to keep my dress down! The things you don’t see! Many outfits we’ve shot on days like this never even made it to the blog because the photos were so awful, but I’m so glad that this one turned out, as it’s been one of my favourites to throw on recently.

Pieces like this dress from MeeMee are always the most worn items in my closet. Simple, comfortable, but with a little something extra, like the dipped hem here, that adds an extra dash of drama, it’s a hardworking piece that can be just thrown on with no extra thought needed.

It’s the perfect clean backdrop to show off my beautiful Belles Bejewelled pendent too. I had gone off jewellery for a while, preferring tiny, delicate pieces when ever I did wear any, but this necklace is quickly restoring my love for more statement pieces. I love that it’s more of a quiet statement, it blends in with the rest of the outfit and doesn’t overpower it, but it’s unique & interesting, and stands out for that. I’ve already had so many people asking about it & I’m glad to find others also saying it reminded them of an artifact from Tomb Raider, or items from various sci-fi movies too. Nice to know I’m not the only nerd to see these things in it, I can’t lie, it was definitely part of it’s appeal to me!

I simply love the first picture and the overall look is great: the MeeMee dress is so versatile and perfect to display a beautiful necklace! Actually I love shooting outfit posts when it’s a bit windy (OK, just a bit…) because it adds some movements to the images and clothes can look even better! Caterina

Do you realise your bag is made from Italian Lamb and Calf leather?

Hi Nicola. Yes, I do know it’s made from leather. If you mean because I’m vegetarian – I’m not vegan, and I do own a lot of leather products & work with it myself too. I see leather as more of a by-product of the meat industry (and I also consume dairy, so feel it would be a bit hypocritical to condemn leather), though I will only buy products made from these types of animals that are commonly farmed mostly for their meat (cow/pig/sheep) & do not buy anything made from exotic skins & will never, ever support the use of fur. I hope that helps :)

Totally agree Steph. The best thing meat eaters can all do within meat industry is buy organic and grass fed cattle, giving the animals the respect they deserve. Hopefully in the near future it will be the norm. The leather really is a waste product that would otherwise be disposed of.

I agree with you, there is almost nothing worse for a blogger than wind! Hehe, even snow is not that bad! :D
And still you managed to look really great! The dress is wonderful, I like how it’s cut! :)

I also don’t like to take photos when it’s windy but sometimes it looks really nice (like your dress on the first photo)

I don’t mind shooting in the wind – though when the wind is being nice and gentle, which it usually is on this side of the world. I love these shots you’ve posted, I feel like you’re about to pull a dagger out of your bag and fling it at the ninja dude hiding behind a near by tree!

Here it’s usually the ‘hair all in your face & can’t see’ kind of wind! Also, love that little image I now have in my head, I would love nothing more than to be a kick ass girl assassin! :D

You do simplicity right. I love just throwing on a black maxi and running out the door. Plus your bag is amazing! It really gives so added detail in the overall look.

The first shot is incredible. I love action shots, I have such a hard time getting them but when you do, you know you got something a lil extra especial. The necklace as I have mentioned in a previous post is gorgeous and a great piece to add in a almost all black wardrobe like yours xx
